In the Intellectual Property Rights research unit at FIZ Karlsruhe, we analyze data protection, copyright, and IT law issues related to current challenges, such as AI applications. We also develop recommendations for the scientific community and science policy.
 
At the data protection unit of the IPR department, we engage in researching on the variety of data protection topics, e.g. GDPR, LED (Law Enforcement Directive 680/2018) and the AI Act. We analyse the dynamic developments in the field and publish these in nationally and internationally recognised journals, present these at important conferences and other fora, and participate in the political consultation with opinions and recommendations. Our team is international and offers opportunities both for the younger academics and established post-doctoral researchers.
 
We are looking for a Research Assistant (m/f/d) at our head office at the earliest possible date.

  • Law degree (1st or 2nd state examination) or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to organise your own work
  • Communication skills

The position is a full-time position with the option to work part-time, fixed-term position within the project, running until 31 August 2029. Compensation is based on pay grade 13 TVöD (VKA) depending on professional and personal qualifications.
